The Zephyr AutomationPACKAGE (ZAP) is a companion to StyleADVISOR designed to simplify the process of generating large numbers of reports. ZAP is the key to automatic report production using your StyleADVISOR workbooks. Any organization that produces the same report using StyleADVISOR charts and data on a regular basis or for a large number of clients can realize significant
savings on labor by automating with ZAP. ZAP consists of two parts:

1. Zephyr API (ZAPI) - The Zephyr API (application programming interface), sometimes referred to as our "scripting" API, allows StyleADVISOR to be controlled programmatically. It is designed to allow individuals with minimal software script writing skills to extract images and data from StyleADVISOR. The API can also use StyleADVISOR's export capabilities to create PDFs and push information to Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents.

   The API is ideally suited to those organiations that want to progammatically integrate StyleADVISOR information into their own applications. However, most organizations will find the Automation Manager is adequate for their automation needs.

2. Automation Manager (AM) - AM is a Windows-based desktop application that uses the Zephyr API. AM is an advanced example of the kind of application that can be built using the API. AM is what most organizations will use to meet their bulk report production needs.

Working with AM is often quicker than using StyleADVISOR directly. With AM, you basically tell StyleADVISOR what you want it to do, click the "run" button, then let it perform the time consuming work, freeing you up to do other tasks. Once set up, thousands of reports can be produced with the click of a single button.

All your instructions to AM are saved in a project file. The project file can be opened and rerun at anytime to produce the same set of reports. Of course StyleADVISOR will re-perform calculations so the report charts and statistics will be up-to date. More than one type of report can be added to each project, and multiple projects can be open and run at one time.

AM also adds some features not available in StyleADVISOR. With AM you can "print" Word, Excel, and Power Point documents as a PDF. Images can be saved in formats not supported by StyleADVISOR. Analysis parameters can be automatically selected based on criteria you specify, such as the funds asset class.

With AM you can easily reuse StyleADVISOR workbooks. Many of our customers have gone from literally thousands of workbooks down to just a few. This makes it easier to update your reports to give them a new look.

With custom Plug-Ins just about anything you could image is possible such as: Storing historical data in your own database; creating complex reports not possible with StyleADVISOR alone.
